
MASON CITY – Rival politicians Steve King and Christie Vilsack, battling for the newly-created Iowa Fourth District House of Representatives seat in Congress, will be in Mason City within the next few days.
Incumbent Steve King will be in Mason City on Saturday, holding a “Restoring Our American Dream Town Hall” at the Clarion Inn, 2101 4th St SW, at 2:30 pm.
According to a press release, King will be “discussing fundamental tax reform and the role the FairTax can play in allowing Americans to Prosper.”
King will have a guest, Georgia Congressman and coauthor of the FairTax Book John Linder.
The event is free and open to the Public.

Challenger Christie Vilsack is coming to Mason City on Tuesday for a fundraiser. She will be joined by U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota.
The event will be hosted at a private residence owned by Tim and Michell Lapointe, located at 291 Lakeview Drive. The date and time is Tuesday, September 25th from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Contribution levels in order to attend are: Host $500, Sponsor $250, Patron $125.
Michell Lapointe told NIT today that “we just set this up a couple of weeks ago. We are big supporters” of Vilsack. “We’re not sure how many people will come, ” she said, nor if the event will be indoors or outdoors.
