BRISTOW — Alan David Eberline, 73, of Bristow, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.

Known to many as “Big Al,” Eberline lived a life rooted in faith, farming, family and the people around him. He spent his life doing the work he loved — farming the land, raising cattle and helping guide the next generation of Eberline Farms.

Those who knew him knew his heart was never far from the farm. He enjoyed working the soil, feeding cattle, buying and selling used machinery and spending long harvest days in his John Deere combine. He also treasured the chance to work alongside his son and pass down the lessons that come only from a lifetime in agriculture.

Eberline and his wife, Kathy, also made trips to Fort Pierre Livestock in South Dakota to purchase cattle, a tradition tied closely to the family’s farming life. Away from the fields, he enjoyed coffee at Bob’s Seed & Feed, driving around in his Gator, checking crops and visiting with people along the way.

He was remembered as a man who could strike up a conversation with nearly anyone. Friends and family recalled his humor, stories, songs and nicknames, and the joy he found in making others laugh.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Crosspoint Church, 215 3rd Street NW, Waverly. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Bristow.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Trinity Reformed Church, 614 Cherry Street, Allison.
