Rhonda “Tootie” Marr, 74, Estherville native, remembered for devotion to family and a memorable sense of humor

ESTHERVILLE — Rhonda “Tootie” Renea Marr, 74, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Correctionville. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel, 401 N. Seventh St., Estherville. Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service. Rhonda will be laid to rest at East Side Cemetery in Estherville.

ESTHERVILLE — Rhonda “Tootie” Renea Marr, 74, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Correctionville.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel, 401 N. Seventh St., Estherville. Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service. Rhonda will be laid to rest at East Side Cemetery in Estherville.

Rhonda was born July 21, 1952, in Estherville, the daughter of Vincent and Wanda (Hanson) Marr. She grew up in the community and graduated from Estherville High School with the class of 1970.

Following high school, Rhonda lived briefly in Montana before returning to Iowa. She and her family later settled in the Sioux City area, where she built a long career in the meatpacking industry.

Rhonda began working at Morrell’s and later continued at Northwest Iowa Pork. She concluded her career with BPI, retiring in 2020 after many years of hard work.

She moved to Homer, Nebraska, in 2006 and made her home in Correctionville beginning in 2023.

Rhonda’s life revolved around her children and grandchildren. Time with family brought her the greatest happiness, and she shared with those closest to her a distinctive sense of humor that will be fondly remembered.

She was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed cheering for the team. During her younger years, bowling was among her favorite activities.

Those left to cherish Rhonda’s memory include her children, Leya Lorenzen of Correctionville and Eric (Hollie) Waldee of Homer, Nebraska; brother, Terry (Julie) Marr of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; six granddaughters, Kayla Lorenzen, Kylee Lorenzen, Aliesha Lorenzen, Ashlee Waldee, Makenzee Waldee and Lyndsee Waldee; great-grandson, Kayden Leight; nephew, Dan Eades; and nieces, Jennifer Talatzko and Krista Evans.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Wanda Marr, and her brothers, Randy Marr, Dennis Eades and Craig Marr.
