MASON CITY – Rainfall finally came to Mason City and parts of North Iowa very early Saturday morning.

Strong wind gusts picked up after midnight in the city, and it was apparent some weather was moving in.

A couple hours later, the heavy rains came, and scattered showers should continue into the afternoon.  The National Weather Service in Des Moines says there is a slight chance of hail and strong winds.

There is another possibility of rain in the middle of the coming week.

The rains may have come too late for the farmers, as corn crops are severely damaged.  Many farmers could be seen this week tilling up what was left of their corn in fields in North Iowa.

Another .06″ and I’ll equal last month’s collections in my rain gauge.

We’ll take any rain we can get, but we could use a steady all day,to bad it has to be the weekend.

It did smell and feel real good. Keep it coming.

“Solid Rainfall”??????
