OSAGE – An Osage man is charged with a felony for allegedly lying on an application for a permit to carry a weapon.

Osage police arrested 55-year-old Brent Allen Michaelsen of Osage on the morning of August 2, 2020, in the 100 block of Main Street. Earlier, a warrant was issued for his arrest by a Mitchell county judge on a charge of class D felony application for permit to carry weapon – false statement of material fact, violation of Iowa code 724.10.

Michaelsen was jailed and soon posted bond and was released from jail as he was appointed a public defender. Mitchell county prosecutor Aaron Murphy introduced onto the record Michaelsen’s criminal history.

Michaelsen is scheduled for arraignment on August 25, 2020.
