Humane Society of North Iowa to Host Chocolate and Romance

MASON CITY – The Humane Society of North Iowa will host its 6th Annual Chocolate and Romance fundraising event this Sunday, February 12th. The event is being held at the Clarion Inn in Mason City and will begin at 2:00 pm. This unique event includes a fashion show, silent auction, wine tasting, and an indulgent chocolate buffet. All proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of North Iowa.

The fashions show showcase the latest styles from clothing retailers in North Iowa. This year’s retailers include: Harley Davidson of Mason City, Unique Boutique and Emerson’s By the Lake, from Clear Lake, State of Wear and Goodnature’s from Garner, and Fleming’s Clothing from Osage. In addition, the fashion show will include animals that are available for adoption from the Humane Society of North Iowa.

This is the 6th year the Humane Society of North Iowa has hosted the Chocolate and Romance event. The money raised will be used to provide care and service to the homeless and displaced animals that reside at the Humane Society’s animal shelter.

Sponsors of the event include: The Beehive Waxing & Skin Care Studio, Jane Fischer-Century 21 Preferred, CL Tel, Clarion Inn, Community QuickPrint, Haines Insurance, Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits, Mason City Ford, and North Iowa Community Credit Union.

Tickets for the event are $15 and may be purchased in advance at the Humane Society, located at 2700 South Birch Drive in Mason City. Shelter hours are: Tuesday-Friday, 10:00 am–5:00 pm, Wednesday, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Saturday, 10:00 am–4:00 pm.
