MASON CITY – On September 20th, 38-year-old, John Paul Compher was cited by local law enforcement for driving while suspended. Compher promised to appear before a magistrate at 3 pm on October 3rd.
Compher made the appearance and pled guilty to driving while suspended. Magistrate Rolf Aronsen then imposed a $500 fine, $175 in surcharges, and $60 in court costs totaling $735.
John Compher then left the Cerro Gordo County Courthouse. Compher was “observed driving by deputy after court appearance for driving under suspension,” according to an incident report.
Shortly before 11am, October 4th, the same deputy arrested Compher near the corner of 2nd Street SW and South Crescent Drive in Mason City for a warrant the deputy had obtained for him the day before.
Compher was transported and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail for one simple misdemeanor count of driving while suspended. He has since been released pending further court procedings.
