
CHARLES CITY – On April 26, the Charles City Police Department participated in the Drug Enforcement Agency prescription medication drop off event.
Police reported that between the hours of 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, officers collected 120 pounds of unused or expired prescription medications at the police station at 105 Milwaukee Mall. Police said the med’s will be properly disposed of.
Prescription medications can be dropped of at the police department 24 hours a day/7 days a week. There is a safe drop box in the hallway at the police department located in the City Hall building at 105 Milwaukee Mall. Medications should be dropped off in the original container with the name of the medications left on the bottle, you can take a marker and remove your name if you desire.
