OSAGE — Marlin R. Sadler, 84, of Osage, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, leaving behind a large family and a life grounded in faith.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 14, at South Osage Mennonite Church, 2197 340th Street, Osage.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 13, at New Haven Mennonite Community Center, 3000 360th Street, Osage, from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m.
Interment will follow in the cemetery adjoining South Osage Mennonite Church. The family asks that flowers be omitted.
Marlin was born June 30, 1942, in Myerstown, Pennsylvania, the son of Clyde W. and Mary E. Sadler. He married Grace M. High on November 23, 1963, beginning a marriage that would span more than six decades.
Faith remained an important part of Marlin’s life. He was a member of Scenic Grove Church of Meadow Springs Conference.
Marlin’s family grew to include four children, 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Sadler; daughter Nancy (Adam) Shirk of Martville, New York; sons Paul (Esther Mae) Sadler of Curtis, Wisconsin, James (Gena) Sadler of Alcester, South Dakota, and Andrew (Monica) Sadler of Orchard; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother, Mark (Grace) Sadler of Richland, Pennsylvania; and sisters Ruth (Norman) Martin, Martha Sadler, Reeda Sadler and Marie Sadler, all of Myerstown, Pennsylvania.
Marlin was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mary Sadler; brother Thomas (Ada) Sadler; sisters Evelyn (Wayne) Umberger, Mabel Sadler and Marion Sadler; and granddaughters Janice Shirk and Katie Mae Sadler.
