FAYETTE COUNTY — A Northern Iowa man is facing a felony drunken-driving charge after a Fayette County deputy allegedly found his pickup truck sitting in a ditch during the middle of the night.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy located a red 2011 Ford F-150 in the south ditch along 190th Street just west of R Avenue at approximately 3:12 a.m. Wednesday, September 9.
Deputies identified the driver as 37-year-old Justin T. Yoerger (pictured at top) of West Union.
Following an investigation, Yoerger was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated, third or subsequent offense, a Class D felony.
He was also charged with driving while his license was suspended and failure to maintain control.
Authorities did not report any injuries in connection with the incident.
Yoerger was transported to the Fayette County Jail, where he was held pending an initial appearance before a judge.
The latest arrest comes as Fayette County authorities continue to deal with repeat drunken-driving cases. NIT recently reported on another Northern Iowa defendant facing a felony OWI charge after an alleged third drunken-driving offense.

A third or subsequent OWI conviction in Iowa can carry significant criminal penalties, including the possibility of prison time.
Yoerger is presumed innocent of the charges unless proven guilty in court.
