PLYMOUTH — Jody Margaret (Ebeling) Yezek, 82, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Manly Nursing and Rehab Center.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second Street SE in Mason City.
Jody’s long and fruitful life was filled with family, learning, laughter and the wonderfully eccentric interests that made her unforgettable. She found happiness in fishing, gardening, hot wings, pickles, orderly garden beds and time spent with those she loved.
Family memories include adventures with the Girl Scouts, days spent at Clear Lake and time together on the farm. Jody believed in appreciating what one had, caring for it and sharing life’s abundance with anyone who needed it.
Learning held a special place in Jody’s heart. Her life itself became a teaching experience for those around her, and she encouraged others to remain patient, curious and open to discovering something new.
Jody worked for the Job Corps and the Mason City Library. She also devoted many years to the Nora Springs Catholic community, touching lives through her compassion, generosity and willingness to help others.
She shared more than five decades of marriage with her husband, Dean Yezek. Together, they raised their sons, Michael and Peter, and welcomed grandchildren Samuel, Joseph and Matthew.
Jody will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dean Yezek; sons, Michael (Heather) Yezek and Peter Yezek; grandchildren, Samuel Yezek, Joseph Yezek and Matthew Yezek; and brother, Jim (Cindy) Ebeling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret, and her niece, Kelly Ebeling.
Jody’s love for her family, kindness toward others and passion for learning will remain part of her lasting legacy. Those who knew her will continue sharing the stories and memories that reflect a life lived forcefully, compassionately and on her own terms.
