ALGONA — Linda Parsons, 70, of Algona, died Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Algona. She is remembered for her love of family, enjoyment of quilting and sewing, and four decades of work at Snap-On Tools.
Memorial visitation will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, September 18, at Lentz Funeral Home, 403 E. McGregor St. in Algona.
Linda Ann Raney was born March 29, 1956, in Des Moines to Howard and Dorothy (Geilenfeldt) Raney. She graduated from Algona High School in 1974.
She married Randy Parsons on October 25, 1986, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. The couple shared 39 years of marriage.
Linda worked at Snap-On Tools for 40 years, serving as a painter, welder and general laborer.
Away from work, she enjoyed quilting and sewing. She also appreciated quiet time outdoors, sitting on her deck and watching birds and other wildlife.
Spending time with her family was especially important to Linda. She looked forward to family gatherings and treasured opportunities to be with her grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her husband, Randy; daughters, Lacey (Mark Watia) Parsons of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Carly (Sam) Nyland of Washburn and Wendy (Tom Shipler) Weir of Grafton; and grandchildren, Lilyann, Gavin, Jackson, Brinnley and Owen Nyland, Taylor Jo Stricker, Tristan Weir and Trenton Shipler.
Other survivors include her brother, Bill (Carolyn) Boss of Clive; sister, Peggy Weidler of Le Mars; sister-in-law, Marlene Raney of Algona; and nieces and nephews, Emily Wells, Courtney Hegwood, Casey Weidler, Elliot Sibley, Diana Moore, Jason Raney and Daniel Raney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howie Raney; and nephew, Adam Raney.
