WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, President Donald Trump declared that the American economy is on the precipice of roaring to life thanks to his tariff strategy, and trillions in new investment is ready to be announced.
“Many companies are on their way back to the United States,” the President said. “Seems they are all coming back.”
An example, allegedly, is a Hyundai plant announced for Louisiana. According to
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, “Hyundai’s decision to invest nearly $6 billion in Ascension Parish speaks volumes about Louisiana’s skilled workforce, robust infrastructure, and our ability to compete for innovative manufacturing facilities.”
As the President pointed out, of it is built here, the tariffs will not apply. Reportedly, tariffs will offset the collection of personal income taxes in the future, potentially. However, higher prices will more evenly distribute the burden of funding government operations throughout the consumer base.
At a press conference announcing results “beyond our wildest expectations,” the President said, “Many companies are now moving into the United States … We have probably identified maybe $4 trillion worth of companies moving back or going to move back.”
There hasn’t been a big announcement for Iowa, just yet.
