MASON CITY — Todd Raymond McMurray, 60, of Mason City, is remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing, camping, grilling, old cars and time spent with the people he loved.
Per Todd’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to his family.
Todd died Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Jan. 29, 1966, in Mason City, Todd was the son of Terry and Lou McMurray. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1985 and spent 25 years working at Wood Harbor before retiring.
Todd married Kim Rhodes on Aug. 12, 2001, in Mason City. They shared 35 years together, including 25 years of marriage.
Family remained at the heart of Todd’s life. He enjoyed relaxing with Kim while watching cooking programs and sharing ghost shows with his daughters. He also loved spending time outdoors fishing and camping, firing up the grill and admiring old cars.
An enthusiastic football fan, Todd faithfully followed the Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes.
Todd is survived by his wife, Kim McMurray; daughters Amanda (Taylor) Fields, Halie (Weston) Jensen, Emma McMurray and Shelby Angell; grandchildren Kamryn and Kolyn Nelson, Joshua Brantner, Madison McMurray, Ceagen and Cody Carpenter, Brooklynn Ruehlow, Jordan Keller and Peyton Nelson; bonus grandchildren Zayden and Kinsley Fields; son-in-law Kevin Nelson; sister-in-law LouAnn Rhodes; several nieces; his grandcats; and his dog, Stuart “Stewie.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Troy McMurray; daughter, Danielle Nelson; parents-in-law, Donna and Eddie Rhodes; and brothers-in-law Al, Jim and Randy Rhodes.
