MASON CITY — Wayne F. “Mac” McFarland, 81, of Mason City, died September 18, 2026, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.
Cremation followed his wishes. His family will gather privately for a service at a later date.
Born in Fort Dodge on December 21, 1944, to Weldon and Francis (Schutt) McFarland, Wayne grew up there and finished high school. His Air Force service spanned September 1966 through June 1968.
Wayne worked for the Triple A Motor Club of Iowa as a field representative. He married Cindy Dalldorf in Mason City on October 8, 1988.
Woodworking, gardening and slot machines brought him enjoyment, but his grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in his life. He also doted on their two Yorkies.
Survivors include Cindy; children Jeff, Joe (Jewel), Tiffany Anderson and Jason Anderson; grandchildren Christopher, Charlee, Casey, Carter, Heather, Randy, Dakota, Lars and Levi; and four great-grandchildren.
His parents and siblings Roger, Kenny and Sandy preceded him in death.
