SIOUX COUNTY – A Northern Iowa man is dead after rear-ending a stopped semi.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on Monday, March 28, 2022. At about 2:30 PM that day, A 1998 International semi truck driven by 43-year-old Jeffrey Verhoef of Hull, Iowa, was stopped at U.S. Highway 18 and Indian Avenue, facing west, waiting to turn south. At this time, 71-year-old Curtis Brownmiller of Spencer, Iowa, approached in his 2017 Nissan PC. Brownmiller rear-ended the semi.
As a result of the collision, Brownmiller was killed.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Hull Fire Ambulance, Sioux Center Ambulance, Sioux county sheriff’s office, Iowa Motor Vehicle Enforcement.
