CHARLES CITY – Taryn Kline, a 2013 graduate of Hampton-Dumont High School, is one of five recipients of a $1000 Scholarship from the Iowa State Snowmobile Association (ISSA), Saturday, July 13th, in Charles City.

To earn the scholarship, Kline wrote a five hundred word essay about what snowmobiling meant to her.  “I want to thank the Iowa State Snowmobile Association.  It is very much appreciated,” said Kline.  Kline will be attending Buena Vista College and is the daughter of Tracy Spear and Randy Kline.
“The five hundred word essay and a two hundred word article is just part of what they had to do.  It makes them think a little bit,” said Bruno Andreni, Executive Director of the ISSA.  “In addition, there was a full application that these students filled out.”
Along with Andreni, Gary Burger, a Board Member and Dave Carmichael, President, announced the winners of the 2013 ISSA Scholarships.
The other four recipients were Makaya Henniges of Sumner, daughter of Randy and Melanie Henniges.  Makaya will be attending the University of Northern Iowa.  Lori Roseland of Gilman, daughter of Kim and Deleana Roseland.  Lori will be attending Dordt College.  Trevor Ambrose Rohach of Toledo, son of Connie Rohach.  Trevor’s chosen institute is Marshalltown Community College.  Hunter Carmichael of Aplington, son of Brian and Angie Carmichael.  Hunter will be going to Ellsworth Community College.
