EMMETSBURG — Jerrod Stokes, 46, of Emmetsburg and formerly of Mallard, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.
Jerrod was born March 25, 1980. Those who knew him recalled a man with a joyful spirit, strong determination and an unforgettable smile. He had a gift for making people feel known, often remembering the people he met and greeting them warmly.
Family and friends also remembered Jerrod for his curious, talkative nature. He enjoyed sharing family news and updates, and he had a way of starting conversations with nearly anyone. His friendly presence and cheerful personality left a lasting mark on those around him.
Jerrod is survived by his parents, Daniel and Jeanelle Stokes of Mallard; his grandmother, Annette Stokes of Emmetsburg; his brothers, Ryan Stokes and his wife, Lori, of Mallard, and Scott Stokes and his wife, Sarah, of Estherville; his sister, Crystal Boes and her husband, Ryan, of Glidden; nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Stokes; grandparents, George and Jeanne Johnson; and his nephew, Myles Scott Stokes.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Grace Church, 2801 17th Street, Emmetsburg.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Grace Church in Emmetsburg, with Rev. Curtis DeFord officiating. Interment will follow at Rush Lake Cemetery in Mallard.
