MASON CITY — Shirley Ann Otten, 78, of Mason City, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
Shirley was born December 18, 1947, the daughter of Clifford and Violet McCloud. Her passing is being mourned by family, friends and others who knew her in Mason City, Clear Lake and the surrounding North Iowa area.
Family was an important part of Shirley’s life. She is survived by her sons, Matthew Otten and his wife, Jennifer, and Jonathan Otten and his wife, Vicki. She also leaves behind grandchildren Torri, Trey, Madison, Whitley, Morgan, Elizabeth, Ivy and Evelyn, along with her brother, Clifford McCloud Jr., and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Patricia Weaver.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Avenue North, Clear Lake.
A second visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Friday, July 10, 2026, at Open Bible Church, 509 South 17th Street, Clear Lake. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 AM Friday at the church.
