MASON CITY – East State Street has been re-opened as progress continues between Kentucky and Illinois Avenues to replace sanitary manholes and perform modification to other utilities. A second contractor continues to remove the existing curb and gutter section between Carolina and Kentucky Avenues.
The reconstruction of the curb and gutter section is expected to begin September 24th and will be on-going for several weeks. During this time travel lanes will be reduced but will allow two-way traffic throughout the project.
Please reduce your speed and remain alert when traveling through the construction zone, for your safety and that of the construction workers.
Sure would be nice if they would park their equipment somewhere else, instead of right out from my driveway.
I guess the city was too busy putting all the “lovely” statues in place.
The city had all summer to do this work. Nice of them to wait until school is in session.
The city is not doing the work. It is a contractor doing the work. I don’t think it is right to complain about the timing.
