MASON CITY — The North Iowa Area Community College Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting Tuesday, June 30, 2026, to consider action on the college’s Athletic Fields Project.

The special meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and will be held by Zoom.

According to the meeting agenda, trustees are expected to consider two action items: approval of the Athletic Fields Project bid award and approval of the Athletic Fields Project contract.

The meeting notice lists the Zoom meeting link as:

The meeting ID is 955 3611 8352, and the passcode is 325105, according to the agenda.  The meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, by Zoom.

The special meeting agenda includes a call to order, declaration of quorum, adoption of the agenda, the two athletic-field action items, any additions to the agenda and adjournment.

The athletic fields project is likely to be closely watched by students, athletes, coaches and community supporters, as athletics and campus facilities are an important part of NIACC’s role in North Iowa. Community colleges often use facility projects not only to support student programs, but also to strengthen recruitment, campus life and regional partnerships.

NIACC is a major educational and workforce-training institution for the region, serving students from across North Iowa through transfer programs, career and technical education, continuing education and community programming.

The June 30 special meeting appears narrowly focused on the athletic fields project, rather than a broad regular monthly agenda. Bid awards and construction contracts are key steps in moving public facility projects from planning to actual work.

The NIACC Board of Trustees is the college’s governing board, responsible for oversight of college policy, finances, facilities, leadership and long-term planning.

There are 9 members of the NIACC Board — click here to view them.

The board’s current member page lists trustees from districts across NIACC’s service area, including representatives tied to communities such as Mason City, Clear Lake, Northwood, Saint Ansgar and others.
