Reynolds receives “Friend of the Iowa Soybean Farmer” award

(DES MOINES) – Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds was presented with the Iowa Soybean Association’s (ISA) 2012 “Friend of the Iowa Soybean Farmer” this week in Ankeny.

“I am honored and humbled to have been recognized by the Iowa Soybean Association and their nearly 8,500 members,” said Reynolds. “During the past year, I have had the privilege of promoting Iowa’s agricultural products on two trade missions. While on the missions, I shared that Iowans are committed to feeding the world with our high-quality crops. I will continue to be a vocal advocate for the Iowa farmer because our agricultural success is crucial for our state’s overall economic health.”

The “Friend of the Iowa Soybean Farmer” award is given to an elected leader, media representative, or other ISA partner, who has supported Iowa soybean farmers through their actions and efforts.

“Lieutenant Governor Reynolds has been a tireless and dedicated advocate for Iowa agriculture and the soybean farmer,” said Kirk Leeds, Iowa Soybean Association Chief Executive Officer.  “In addition to her advocacy, Lieutenant Governor Reynolds is co-chairing ‘Special Delivery. Homes. Help. Hope. For Haiti,’ which helps provide much-needed food and shelter for the people of Haiti who are still struggling to recover following the devastating 2010 earthquake.”
