IRVING, Texas — The Big 12 Conference is making a major technology investment aimed at improving replay reviews, game management and fan transparency across college sports.
The conference announced plans for a new centralized Replay Operations Center at Williams Tower in Irving, Texas, the same building that houses the Big 12 headquarters. The facility is expected to open for the 2027 football season.
The roughly 2,000-square-foot replay center will give the conference a controlled environment for video reviews, with the goal of improving consistency, speed and accuracy during games. It will also be used for official training and evaluation.
The new center will initially include 10 replay stations, with room to expand to 16.
Big 12 officials said the Replay Operations Center will support live audio feeds during replay reviews on Big 12 football broadcasts, making the Big 12 one of only two conferences using replay audio as part of its television presentation.
That move builds on the conference’s recent push for more officiating transparency. During the 2025 football season, the Big 12 introduced live replay center look-ins, giving television viewers a behind-the-scenes view of the review process.
“Our new replay center is a key investment in Big 12 Football that will strengthen our football ecosystem,” Big 12 Chief Football and Competition Officer Scott Draper said. “This state-of-the-art facility enhances communication and replay operations, elevates our television broadcasts, and creates new opportunities to improve fan engagement and transparency while keeping the Big 12 at the forefront of innovation in college athletics.”
The facility will include a 32-input replay system using existing campus fiber infrastructure, integrated communication systems linking stadiums with replay officials and conference leadership, and PTZ All-30 View camera technology designed to keep all 22 players and eight officials in frame at all times.
The center will also include DVS 360 post-game review capabilities, a dedicated replay operations floor, a Game Day Center and a year-round digital content studio supporting Big 12 Studios.
DVSport is partnering with the Big 12 on the project. The company will provide replay hardware, maintenance, software, 24/7 remote support, on-site game support and replay operator assistance.
“The Big 12 continues to define the future of collegiate athletics with its investment in their new Replay Operations Center,” DVSport President and CEO Brian Lowe said. “By expanding its capabilities and capacity, the Conference is not only meeting the evolving demands of officiating across multiple high-profile sports, but also championing transparency in the process.”
Lowe said DVSport is “thrilled” to extend its replay partnership with the Big 12, saying the project will help put cutting-edge technology in the hands of officials.
The new replay hub is expected to serve football first, but the conference said it is also designed with future all-sport replay capabilities in mind.
