WATERLOO – Law enforcement in recent days sought and caught a suspected member of an Iowa methamphetamine ring
According to authorities, on April 28, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office executed several warrants on a methamphetamine ring in that county. As a result of that investigation, a warrant for Andrew Nels Marcussen was issued and law enforcement began to investigate his whereabouts.
As a result of information gathered, On May 8 the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office believed they had a location where Marcussen was hiding out. The Sheriff’s Office then contacted the Department of Narcotic Enforcement (DNE) and briefed them on the location. Later that night, Marcussen was taken into custody at a Waterloo location and found to be in possession of more methamphetamine.
Marcussen was transported to the Fayette County Jail and remains in custody on a no bond warrant. The investigation will continue and charges are pending.
