MASON CITY – A former Mason City man was hospitalized Sunday after another driver allegedly ran a stop sign on 12th Street NE and caused a collision.
Jeff Shackleton, formerly of Mason City and now of Des Moines, was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on 12th Street NE at the 700 block Sunday at about 2:00 PM as he approached the intersection at that location. Marilee Moeding of Mason City was driving a Chevy Impala southbound at 12th Street and North Hamsphire and she failed to stop at the stop sign, police said, and collided with Shackleton’s Harley.
The Fire Department transported Shackleton to Mercy Hospital. Moeding was charged with Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.
