Two vans collide at busy MC intersection; two injured, one cited

MASON CITY – Two vans with female drivers collided Sunday afternoon at a busy Mason City intersection, leading both to take an ambulance to Mercy Hospital.

Police said that on Sunday at 3:09 PM, a collision was reported near Hwy 122 and South Pierce Ave. Dolores Bermudez-Gonzalez, age 45, was driving a Chevy Venture van eastbound on Hwy 122 and turned left (north) to proceed on Pierce Ave. Amy Subia, age 21 of Hampton, was driving a Dodge Grand Caravan westbound through the same intersection when the two vehicles collided.

Bermudez-Gonzalez was charged with failure to yield upon left turn and no driver’s license. Both drivers were transported to Mercy Emergency Room by the Fire Department.
