HAMPTON – A woman suffered minor injuries in an auto collision Friday in Hampton.

Around 3:40 PM Friday afternoon at the intersection of 1st Street SE and 1st Avenue SE in Hampton, a two-car collision occurred.  Kristy Slotness of Hampton was on her way home when her SUV was hit by another vehicle.  As a result, NIT is told her vehicle was totaled and towed away and she suffered some minor injuries.

“The Ambulance came to check me over,” said Slotness. “Thankfully just really bruised so far, will see how I feel tomorrow.”

“Thankfully it wasn’t my fault,” Slotness continued, “but the other driver didn’t have insurance so not to sure how that will be, just glad that we were both ok.  Very scary, and this was just in town, couldn’t imagine if I would of been driving 55 or 70 mph. Wow…. ”

The other driver, NIT is informed, was Mariana Yanez from Latimer.  She was driving a vehicle owned by Jose Zarate Vargas from Hampton.  She was cited for failure to yield to vehicle on the right and failure to have valid insurance.

hard to believe someone in Hampton would be driving without insurance.
