DUBUQUE, Iowa
DUBUQUE – An Iowa man made a rash decision to call a hospital and make a threat, causing it to lockdown. Then, cops went and retrieved him for a date with the law.

On January 29th, 2025, at approximately 10:54 AM, Dubuque police were notified of a threat of violence toward Unity Point Finley Hospital, 350 N. Grandview. The caller making the threat was subsequently identified as 49-year-old Justin Auman Keene of Dubuque.

Keene stated on the phone call that he would be coming to Finley and threatened to commit a violent act.

According to Finley Hospital, “Due to an external threat targeting a specific individual, UnityPoint Health – Finley Hospital’s campus went on lockdown at approximately 10:50 AM on Wednesday, January 29 and was subsequently lifted at 1 PM.”

Dubuque Police Criminal Investigations and Patrol officers soon located Keene at his residence in Dubuque where he was taken into custody without incident.

Keene is charged with Threats of Terrorism, a Class D Felony.
