FAYETTE – An Iowa sex offender who was not complying with the state’s registry that tracks their whereabouts was arrested late last week.
According to law enforcement, on May 8, 2014, 22-year-old Kristina Grotegut of Clermont, Iowa was arrested for first offense failure to comply with the Iowa sex offender registry. Charges stemmed from prior information given to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. Grotegut was arrested and transported to Fayette County Jail. With her parent’s signature, she posted 25% of a $1,500 cash bond. She awaits a May 19, 2014 hearing.
Grotegut was convicted in 2012 in Winnesheik county of a sex offense against a male between the ages of 14-17, when she was 20 years old.
