MASON CITY — A convicted domestic abuser was arrested Friday night at a Mason City convenience store with a sketchy history of crime calls, including a past murder and armed robbery.

Brooke McKee Dalgliesh, 30, was arrested at 9:17 p.m. on June 12, 2026, after Mason City police were called to Casey’s at 813 North Federal Avenue for a suspicious person, vehicle or other incident.

According to police and jail records, Dalgliesh was arrested on new charges of assault, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness with no intent, and public intoxication, first offense.

Dalgliesh (pictured at top) was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail at 10:12 p.m. Friday.

Jail records list bond amounts of $1,000 cash or surety on the assault causing bodily injury or mental illness charge, $300 cash or surety on the general assault charge, and $300 cash or surety on the public intoxication charge.

The North Federal Casey’s location is no stranger to police tape and flashing lights.

NorthIowaToday.com has previously reported on serious criminal activity tied to the same Casey’s address, including a 2011 shooting death at the store and a 2023 armed robbery investigation. In the 2023 case, NIT reported that charges were filed after an armed robbery at Casey’s, 813 North Federal Avenue, and noted the store had also been the scene of a prior murder investigation.

Dalgliesh’s latest arrest comes after her prior conviction in Cerro Gordo County for domestic abuse assault, second offense.

Court records in case AGCR033015 show Dalgliesh was charged after an April 20, 2024, incident with domestic abuse assault, second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor. She entered a negotiated guilty plea on August 20, 2024.

Judge Karen K. Salic sentenced Dalgliesh to 365 days in jail, with 363 days suspended, along with a one-year probation term. The sentence also included a mental health and substance abuse evaluation, a DNA requirement, and a fine that was suspended by the court.

Court records show Dalgliesh later faced probation violation proceedings. Her probation was extended in February 2025, and court records note a requirement for 30 days at Northern Lights Homeless Shelter.

A later probation violation filed in August 2025 resulted in an adjudication for contempt of court on October 20, 2025. Dalgliesh was sentenced to 70 days in jail in that matter.

The new Friday night arrest marks another alleged assault case for Dalgliesh following that domestic abuse conviction.

No further details about the alleged victim or circumstances of Friday’s incident were included in the initial police and jail information provided.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation. Dalgliesh is presumed innocent on the new charges unless and until proven guilty in court.
