WESTGATE – A Northern Iowa man freshly placed on probation for felony burglary is allegedly not being the good citizen the system is asking him to be.

The Fayette County Sheriff says their office took a harassment report in the City of Westgate on November 4, 2024. Upon investigation, it was learned that 35-year-old Jacob Jeanes of Westgate had harassed a female on numerous occasions. Jeanes was arrested and charged with third-degree Harassment, a simple misdemeanor.

Jeanes was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was held for an initial appearance in court. After a not-guilty plea, he’s scheduled for a pre-trail conference on December 11. A a trial, if necessary, in January.

According to court records, Jeanes (pictured at top) was convicted in a guilty plea back in July of this year for felony burglary. He was given a suspended 5-year prison sentence and 5 years of probation.
