MASON CITY – A Clear Lake woman is now awaiting an arraignment hearing on several charges related to incidents connected to drug possession, drunk driving and public intoxication.
Amber Lynn Ward, age 29, will be in court on October 27 for an arraignment. She is facing charges of second offense operating while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of prescription drugs, operating without a valid license, aggravated public intoxication and disorderly conduct. She will face a March 24 trial on the drug possession charge.
Ward was busted in the Wendy’s parking lot in Mason City on September 21 for all of the above charges except the aggravated public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges, which were brought by Clear Lake police after a September 8 incident. She will face a March 30 trial on the disorderly conduct charge.
Ward pled guilty in August to interference with official acts after being charged by Mason City police. She pled guilty and was ordered to pay $437.25 in fines and court fees, and is now past due on that balance, records show. Additionally, she pled guilty to the same charge in Des Moines county back in January of this year and was ordered to pay $161.25 in fines and fees, but has made no payment.
