ALLISON — The Butler County Board of Supervisors approved a petition for suspension of taxes, heard updates on road projects and speed-limit changes, and approved county claims during its regular meeting on June 2, 2026.
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Greg Barnett, with Supervisors Wayne Dralle and Rusty Eddy present.
Supervisors approved the agenda and the minutes from the May 29, 2026, meeting. No public comment was received.
County Treasurer Roxie Nicolaus discussed a petition for suspension of taxes request she had received. Nicolaus explained the reasons such a request may be made and said the property taxes would become due when the property is sold. Supervisors voted to approve the petition.
During the county engineer’s update, Tim Riherd said a new mower had been throwing grass onto the road and was being adjusted. Riherd also said the Ridge Avenue bridge is being removed for replacement.
Riherd also discussed how the state’s change from 55 mph to 60 mph speed limits will affect Butler County secondary roads. The county will replace 55 mph speed-limit signs outside city limits and review passing zones for sight distances at the new speed.
Supervisors approved claims paid from May 1 through May 31, 2026.
The board also acknowledged manure management plan short-form annual updates for Allison Finisher Farm #63889, McCandless III Finisher Farm #68556, Aspen Finisher Farm #71290, Reeser Finisher Farm #63709, Lindell Limited #58662, Kampman Site #65334, B&D Pulled Pork #65937 and Hauser Finisher #58098.
The regular meeting adjourned at 9:14 a.m. The board was scheduled to meet again June 9, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
