MASON CITY – The North Iowa Diversity Appreciation Team (NIDAT) partnering with Main Street Mason City is sponsoring the 10th annual Ethnic Lunch by Central Park, as part of the Great River City Festival. The luncheon is scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2013, from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. This is an opportunity for interested groups or individuals to share their culture with the community. Ethnic food currently committed to this event include Mexican tacos and enchiladas, Greek gyros, German food and Filipino food. NIDAT is looking for Norwegian, Bosnian, African, Middle Eastern, or any culture you care to share. If you or your group would be interested in participating in this event, please contact Merle Brockshus at 641-583-3688.
The event will take place on North Federal Avenue across from Central Park. Ethnic food vendors, cultural displays, and music will be featured sharing their heritage through ethnic cuisine.
The mission of NIDAT is to work to inspire and empower the diverse population of North Iowa to recognize, value and respect all people. This event will highlight various ethnicities to promote greater understanding of the diversity of cultures in the area.
