MASON CITY – Details are sketchy in a case where a Meservey man claims to have shot himself in the leg with a firearm.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, Nicholas Scott Henning, 34, called the sheriff’s office at 9:22 AM Tuesday and told deputies that he accidentally shot himself in the leg the previous evening. Henning was transported by private party to a Belmond hospital for treatment.
An investigation is now underway and no foul play is suspected.
