Manly resident arrested in Mason City on burglary and domestic assault charges

MASON CITY – At 1:46 a.m. Sunday morning Mason City police responded to a report of an assault at 675 8th Street SE in Mason City.

Allegedly 41-year-old Thomas Michael Arndt of 328 East Spring Street in Manly entered the residence without permission and assaulted a female who was inside.

As a result of the investigation Mason City police transported Arndt to the Cerro Gordo County jail on one Class C felony count of 2nd degree burglary and one simple misdemeanor count of domestic abuse assault.

If a person is convicted in Iowa of a Class C felony they face a maximum of ten years in prison. Fines range from a minimum of $1,000 to a maximum of $10,000.

Arndt has been released from custody pending further court proceedings.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
