The Ultimate Guide to Having a Perfect Outdoor Space

As the winters have started to set in, and the holiday season is just around the corner, people are already excited about the evening bonfires and BBQ luncheons. The grills, the smoker pellets, the skewers, everything is set in order. The only problem remains is to have a nice cozy place that gives a perfect ambiance yet is intimate and not public. Well, that’s exactly why you should consider using your very ordinary lawn for the purpose. Interestingly, with a little creative mind and effort, you can transform your boring flat land into a beautiful dreamy garden where you can have some fun BBQ parties. Here are a few tips to have a perfect outdoor space.

Plan a Layout

If you start from scratch, you have nothing but a piece of flat land. Even if it is grass, it will be dull and boring with no design elements to create the right oomph. A good garden calls for a theme, pattern or layout that the final look will follow. Instead of randomly placing trees and plants here and there, you can add structure and definition to your lawn by adding them to specific arrangements. Chalk out a layout on paper and decide how do you want to arrange everything in your garden from trees to planters to any other aesthetic elements that you wish to add.

Trees and Plants

A garden is incomplete without trees and plants, but as stated earlier, they need to have an arrangement. Besides that, the dynamics of your location and climatic conditions play a huge role in the type of trees and plants you choose. Ideally, the taller trees should go on the outer boundary of your lawn. Besides looking pleasant, tall trees provide a security cover to your property and can help to keep trespassers at bay. Add vines along the walls of your house and entrances to create a fairytale feel. Colorful floral plants dotting the driveway add to the final look. Make generous use of creative and colorful planters for potting.

Aesthetic Elements

A beautiful garden is not all about grass and trees. There are several aesthetic elements that you can add to your lawn to create a closer-to-nature feel. Rocks and boulders are a popular choice and can add a beautiful feel to your garden. For a larger garden, you can use a few boulders in assorted size or create a Japanese garden near the entrance. Fairy gardens, mushrooms, birdcages, and hanging planters are also great aesthetics for your lawn.

Lighting

Lighting is the most underrated design element. If you have not much to do in a space, lighting alone can do so much to create the right ambiance. There are so many beautiful lighting options available today to create any kind of aura that you feel like. For larger gardens, it would be a good idea to add bright lamp posts. They not only tend to have good light coverage but also give a cozy yet regal feel. Throw strands of fairy lights and LED lights across the tree branches. You can also wrap fairy light strings loosely around the vines. Floor lamps can be added along the flowerbed to complete the look.

Furniture and Fixtures

Now that you have everything in place, throw in some classy patio furniture and a canopy in the vacant area of the lawn. Invite friends over and enjoy a perfect yet intimate bonding session with your loved ones in the comfort and privacy of your home.
