Vivek Ramaswamy is 37 years of age, and an entrepreneur. He has been on TV comparing himself to Donald Trump, saying his platform is “Donald Trump 2.0.” He is against America’s involvement in the war to stop Russia at Ukraine. He has railed against addressing climate change, saying “I think the right answer is more fossil fuels” while promoting nuclear power. He loves to discuss “nationalism,” known in some circles as a dog whistle for white power. “Most Republican politicians are afraid of the word “Nationalism,” Ramaswamy tweeted days ago. “They shouldn’t be. America is grounded in ideals & truth. We should embrace our national identity and be proud of it. That’s good for America & for the free world. If that makes me a nonwhite nationalist, so be it.”

Friday, Vivek Ramaswamy was in Iowa’s capitol building. There, he spoke to Republican lawmakers and gave a lecture on his ideals. (Watch the video at bottom of story.)

After his campaign stops here in Iowa, Ramaswamy said, “My #1 takeaway here in Iowa: people don’t want to just hear about the problem anymore. They want solutions. They’re sick of obsessing over “who.” They want to hear about the “what” & the “why.” I’m surprised by how many people are showed up in droves at our events. Says something.”

Bob Vander Plaats, a far-right wing former Iowa lawmaker, sang the praises of Ramaswamy, saying he “will be enthusiastically embraced in #2024 POTUS race. Thrilled he’s choosing to be a voice to call us back to common sense and basic values.”
