I was disgusted today as I entered the Wal-Mart parking lot.
I was greeted by debris, trash and overflowing garbage cans. Even as our City Council professes interest in cleaning up and beautifying the entrances into our city, this spectacle is allowed to smudge our city’s reputation.
There are plenty of out of town license plates in that parking lot. I wonder what they think of Mason City? If Wal-Mart is allowed to behave this way, what else might be taking place, how clean is the rest of the city? Not a good way to sell Mason City to the outside world.
By the way, Wal-Mart’s Manager, Stewart Anderson, is a Chamber of Commerce Board member. Perhaps he can find time between meetings there to direct his staff to pick up trash bags and head to the parking lot.
Let’s start holding these people accountable, Mason City.
