Worth supervisors approve Founder’s Day airport road closure, future hearings at May 18 meeting

NORTHWOOD – The Worth County Board of Supervisors approved an airport road closure request for Founder’s Day and set hearing dates tied to Drainage District #6 during its regular meeting on May 18, 2026.

Supervisors Mark Smeby and Enos Loberg were present for the meeting. Supervisor A.J. Stone was absent. Loberg called the meeting to order, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

The board approved the day’s agenda and the minutes from the May 11 meeting.

One of the items approved was a F.A.S.T. Speed Trial request for an airport road closure on Founder’s Day, September 12, as requested by Arlen Throne.

Supervisors also approved a work order for DD 6/Lat submitted by Ron Levorson of Levorson Farms LLC. The approval was made subject to checking with TBB on previous spraying.

The board accepted the DD #6 Annexation and Reclassification reports filed by Jon Rosengren of Bolton & Menk, Inc.

Supervisors then set the DD #6 hearing date for August 3. The annexation hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., followed by the reclassification hearing at 10:45 a.m.

The board also approved claims totaling $829.00, all for service from OTIS Elevator Company.

Retail tobacco licenses were approved for Diamond Jo Worth LLC at The Jo Stop and Diamond Jo Casino.

Supervisors acknowledged and placed on file a manure management plan update for Steven Wyborny’s Grafton Site #69466.

The board also approved an Auxiant Schedule A Fee & Commission Disclosure statement and authorized the county auditor to sign it electronically on behalf of the county.

In courthouse maintenance business, supervisors approved a $4,200 bid from North Iowa Custom Seamless Guttering to clean the courthouse gutters and place covers on them.

The meeting adjourned at 8:54 a.m.
