Kathleen Isaacson, 92, leaves behind a life filled with family, music, books and treasured collections

ALGONA — Kathleen Mae Isaacson, 92, passed away September 30, 2026, at Algona Manor Care Center in Algona. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lentz Funeral Home, 403 E. McGregor Street in Algona. A memorial service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Curt Copple officiating. The service will be livestreamed through the funeral home’s website. Inurnment will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Algona.

ALGONA — Kathleen Mae Isaacson, 92, passed away September 30, 2026, at Algona Manor Care Center in Algona.

Kathleen was born July 4, 1934, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Harold and Effie Peterson Myre. She graduated from Morgan Park High School in Duluth in 1952.

On April 18, 1953, Kathleen married Rev. Clifford Isaacson in Duluth. The couple lived in Ida Grove before later making their home in Algona.

Kathleen worked as a nurse’s aide until her retirement.

She enjoyed a wide range of hobbies and interests, including scrapbooking, playing mystery video games, playing the piano, reading books by V.C. Andrews, building doll houses and collecting dolls and owls.

Kathleen is survived by her children, Duane and Gina Isaacson of Fortuna, California, Mary and Scott Popejoy of Bode, Linda Isaacson and Tom Rezabek of Lu Verne, and Kevin and Tammy Isaacson of Fertile; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Effie Myre; her husband, Rev. Cliff Isaacson; and her daughter, Shirley Schmitt.
