Clear Lake’s 1st Annual Boat, Bus, Bike Poker Run set for Saturday, August 17th

CLEAR LAKE – An “action-packed, fun-filled day” awaits the adventurous in Clear Lake later this month.

Clear Lake’s 1st Annual Boat, Bus, Bike Poker Run, sponsored by the Clear Lake Jaycees, is described by organizers as an “action-packed, fun-filled” poker run with a twist.

There are participating locations in the event all across town and around the lake.  Participants can complete the poker run with whatever transportation they wish.

“You can easily complete the task by boat, bicycle, motorcycle, car/truck/bus, or even walking,” event organizers said.

The poker run sets up like this: To complete the run, you must register between 10-11am at The Landing (cost is $20) then make it to at least five of the participating destinations and return to The Landing by 3pm to be dealt a poker hand. The best 5 card hand wins.

Bonuses cards will be dealt for making it to all the stops.

Also included in the fun is a scavenger hunt for all ages and a series of trivia questions testing knowledge of the Clear Lake community.

Cash prizes to be awarded for the top three poker hands and various prizes associated with the scavenger hunt.

See the Clear Lake Jaycees Facebook page for more information.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the North Iowa Autism Center.

This is a newly-chartered chapter and has nothing to do with events that did and did not happen “years back.”
