WATERLOO – One person is dead after a motorcycle crashed into the back of a parked police car near Waterloo Friday afternoon.
According to a report, two persons on a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle from the Chicago area were northbound on Interstate 380 near Waterloo at about 2 PM and traveling in what the report calls the “inside lane” when they struck a parked Black Hawk County Sheriff’s patrol car.
The deputy was outside of his vehicle directing traffic after another serious accident that had taken place earlier.
The patrol care was in emergency mode with all emergency lights in operation.
The 44 year-old female passenger on the motorcycle was killed. The 44 year-old male driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to Covenant Hospital in Waterloo.
