BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA – The latest shooting of a black man by white police officers has the internet abuzz, with video circulating showing police shoot the man in the chest several times.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana Police are investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred around 12:35 AM July 5 at 2112 North Foster Drive at the Triple S Food Mart. Uniformed officers responded to a disturbance call from a complainant who stated that a black male who was selling music cd’s and wearing a red shirt threatened him with a gun.
Officers made contact with ALTON STERLING, age 37 of Baton Rouge, in the parking lot of the business. An altercation between Sterling and the officers ensued. Sterling was shot during the altercation and died at the scene.
Two Baton Rouge police officers have been placed on administrative leave per standard procedure. This is an ongoing investigation.

From Staten Island to Baltimore, Ferguson to Baton Rouge, too many African American families mourn the loss of a loved one from a police-involved incident. Something is profoundly wrong when so many Americans have reason to believe that our country doesn’t consider them as precious as others because of the color of their skin.
“I am glad the Department of Justice has agreed to a full and thorough review of this shooting. Incidents like this one have undermined the trust between police departments and the communities they serve. We need to rebuild that trust. We need to ensure justice is served. This story is about the man shot in Baton Rouge La. not the one shot in Minnesota that was about a concealed carry permit.

The man in Louisiana was on the ground being restrained by 2 officers. Why shoot him? Taser him!.Get another officer there to help cuff him! Do something other than pull your gun and shoot. I have a number of friends and acquaintances who are police/sheriff deputies. I don’t hate them and I don’t mistrust them. But these kind of shootings seem to only happen to black men. Something, somewhere is wrong.

Here is the deal. If you have a CWP, or you carry a gun, you don’t just show it to a person. You use it or pull it when your ready to use it and not because some guys comes up to you. Second, when the cops come, comply with their orders or you fish getting shot. Don’t matter if your a gang banger, drug dealer or rich dad with two kids. Comply or risk getting shot. Lastly, we are all rushing to judgement. I want to see and hear all the evidence until I convict anyone on anything.
Watch the video and its hard to fault the police on this one. They were responding to a man who it was reported already threatened a person with a gun then they told him not to move or reach and its clear he did not obey. Ask yourself what would you do in their shoes>

No justification for executing him. He was down. The officer realized he had a gun in his pocket and cslled out, which resulted in the officer with the gun drawn to fire into his chest point blank range. Not one, but 5 rounds. It’s murder by cop regardless of what this man’s former history was.
