IOWA CITY – An Iowa convenience store worker was shot by patrons over the weekend, police say.
At 7:17 PM on Saturday, April 8, 2023, Iowa City Police responded to Casey’s convenience store, 370 Scott Court, for a report of a shooting.
Police investigation into the matter determined a woman working at the store was approached by two customers. During the interaction, the customers assaulted the woman and all three persons exited the store. As they were exiting, one of the customers pulled out a handgun and shot the woman.
The woman suffered a minor injury and the suspects left the area on foot.
This incident is under active investigation and police said no other information is available at this time.
