MASON CITY – A Mason City teen has been reported missing since Thursday.
Savanna Estal was reported missing to the Mason City Police Department (641-421-3636), in Mason City on October 18, 2012. She was last seen wearing a red hoodie, blue jeans and possibly wearing loafers. She has a pierced nose.
UPDATE: From Mason City police:
“Savanna is a 15 yr old white female, with dark brown straight hair (past shoulders), brown or hazel eyes, 5’7″, 135 lbs, and a nose piercing. This is the 8th time since May 2012 that she has been reported missing by her family. Charges of Operation without the Owner’s Consent have been forwarded to juvenile court services for Savanna. Savanna is alleged to have stolen the family’s vehicle when she ran away. The vehicle has been recovered. Her disappearance is deemed to be voluntary. She is suspected of currently being in the Mason City area with friends. We do not have a photo as of yet. Her family is supposed to be sending one.”

All 3 of these girls that have been on this site lately as “missing” all are friends with each other. And all three of them are in trouble all the time. Stealing, running away, alcohol, drugs, older boys, etc. My family was a victim of theft from one of the girls and I had to go to juvenile court to try to get restitution. I know that one of them has been kicked out of the school system. I’m sure none of them were actually missing. Makes me wonder if their parents just don’t want them having another run in with the juvenile court system, so they claim they’re missing.
C’mon people, time to be parents and keep track of your kids and get them to shape up.
Semms to me something is making these kids want to run off, peers, drugs and alcohol etc….Parents need to figure it out…..
Parents have it figured out, but chaining them in their rooms is illegal.
I believe this girl was with the girl Mariah Mahaney that was reported missing last week. They are probably together. These girls have lots of issues and seem to be in trouble alot of the time.
These alerts are heartwrenching, but really, without a photo, what good are they?
Agreed, but releasing what is available is better than nothing. We asked MCPD to send over anything else they get. We will post as soon as that happens.

If the kid ran away, obviously the parent can’t watch her, wherein lies the problem . . .
Watch them better? If the kid wants out bad enough they will find a way. I know a parent that made their house into prison. Alarms on their doors and windows to make sure their child didn’t sneak out at night, and they still found a way.
