DES MOINES – Police are searching for clues today after a man was struck and killed by a motorist on a Iowa Interstate highway.
Police say that at approximately 5:20 AM Monday morning, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the traffic lanes of I-235, just north of Guthrie Ave. Despite lifesaving efforts by officers and Des Moines Fire Department medics, 27-year-old Derrius Robinson died of injuries sustained in this incident.
The preliminary investigation by the DMPD Traffic Unit finds no fault with the driver. Police are asking anyone driving in the area Monday morning to call with any details they may have.
