MASON CITY – Volunteers working with the North Iowa Detachment #859 Marine Corps League and the 2013 Toys for Tots campaign were at KMart this past weekend, shopping for kids to help make this holiday season special.
Toys For Tots Coordinator – and former marine – Ernie L. Martinez of Mason City was on hand, helping shop for kids in need from 7 different counties. One of each toy on a list was placed into shopping carts Saturday, November 16th at KMart in Mason City.
“KMart is gracious enough to offer a discount on the toys,” Mr. Martinez said.
Other volunteers were helping with the shopping as well, including ABATE of Iowa (District 7) members Jennifer Monson, Jeanna Perschbacher, Janelle Furleigh.
“We’ve been involved with Toys for Tots for 24 years,” Jeanna said. “We do lots of fundraisers and other events to raise funds to help out.”

You can definitely see your enthusiasm within the paintings you write. The world hopes for even more passionate writers like you who are not afraid to say how they believe. Always go after your heart.
Great job! North Iowa is proud to have these volunteers. I want to personally thank them since I don’t have the time to do the ground work but support them with my donation. What a difference it makes for a child.
