Kim Renee Marovets, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, at the age of 65, in Mason City. A visitation in honor of Kim Renee Marovets will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel.

Kim Renee Marovets (nee Murphy), a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, at the age of 65, in Mason City, Iowa. She was born on October 10, 1958, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to the late Paul Murphy and Nadine Mershon Murphy. Kim was preceded in death by her sisters Konnie Holman and Ivon Tucker.

Kim leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be deeply cherished by her children: Jessica Saul (Ryan), Jason Marovets (Mandy), Jeremy Marovets, and Jack Marovets. She is also survived by her former husband, Bob Marovets, her sister, Kerry Bangert, her brother, Mark Murphy, and her beloved grandchildren: Caleb Hawbaker, Callista Hawbaker, Colby Hawbaker, Connor Saul, Tierra Keeney, Makayla Marovets, and Ava Marovets.

After attending East High School in Waterloo, Iowa, Kim answered the call to serve her country, joining the United States Army in 1979. Her dedication to duty and unwavering commitment led her through a distinguished military career spanning from 1979 to 2007, achieving the esteemed rank of Sergeant First Class. Kim’s service was marked by true valor and honor, earning her multiple accolades and awards, each a testament to her dedication and bravery.

Following her military service, Kim pursued higher education, earning her Bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista University in 2010. She found joy and fulfillment in her work at Mason City Community Schools, where she touched the lives of many colleagues and students alike.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Kim’s true passion lay in her family. She reveled in taking her grandchildren on camping adventures and sharing her cherished homemade noodles during family gatherings. Her infectious laughter and radiant smile illuminated every room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation in honor of Kim Renee Marovets will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, Iowa, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. In celebration of her remarkable life, let us gather to pay tribute to a woman whose kindness, strength, and love enriched the lives of all who knew her. Kim will be deeply missed but never forgotten, her spirit forever etched in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
