Man wanted for murder caught in Waterloo

WATERLOO - A man wanted for murder after a shooting at an Iowa bar was caught by police in Waterloo.

WATERLOO – A man wanted for murder after a shooting at an Iowa bar was caught by police in Waterloo.

On March 29, 2023, around 4:00 pm, the Marion Police Department along with the U.S. Marshals of the Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and the Waterloo Police Department arrested Duval Walker Jr., age 28, in the 900 block of Linn Street in Waterloo. Walker was wanted for Murder Degree, Possession of a Firearm or Offensive Weapon by a Felon and Going Armed with Intent from the shooting that occurred on March 17 at Cocktails Bar in Marion, Iowa.

The Marion Police Department notified the U.S. Marshals of Walker’s warrants early on during the investigation and the U.S. Marshals adopted the warrants. The U.S Marshals obtained information that Walker was in Waterloo. Walker was taken into custody without incident. Walker was transported to the Linn County Correctional Center in Cedar Rapids.
